Chaff and Flare program mission planning is the outcome of a flight and mission plan which takes into account the terrain and threats such as ground-to-air and air-to-air missiles. During the mission preparation time is critical, and the planner must have the ability to plan the chaff and flare programs and to verify that they are corrent.

The Portable Program Mission Planning System (PPMPS) is an interactive program generator application. The PPMPS guides the planner step-by step on the process of creating and testing new dispensing programs prior to loading them into the CAFDS dispensing system on the aircraft. The PPMPS operates either as a standalone system (installed on a laptop), or linked with other command information systems, to aid the mission planner in selecting optimal programs to overcome threats in hostile territories.

BPAM – Breech Plate and Magazine for CAFDS

By | Dispensing Systems | No Comments

The BPAM is a Breech plate and Magazine solution for the CAFDS Chaff and Flare Dispensing system. Each BPAM can contain up to 30 payloads of chaff or flares, a mix of them (RR-170, RR-180 or M-206), or 15 payloads of MJU-7 IR flares.

The BPAM interfaces with the SDU Smart Dispensing Unit, which provides the dispensing commands to the BPAM.

In a typical installation, the BPAM can be mounted on each side of a pylon or externally on both sides of the aircraft with an aerodynamic nose fairing. Other common installations are flush mounted installation inside the aircraft or semi-internal installation.
